Day 7: {Thursday} We started off the day at Pier 17 and took a boat tour of the city. We were able to see the Statue of Liberty, up close this time, its still tiny, and the beautiful city. We saw Ellis Island, which is also closed because of hurricane Sandy, and the place where Obama lands when he comes to town. It was cool to see all the buildings from afar. We went over to sea port to try and to BODIES Exhibit and The Police Museum but unfortunately they were closed due to reconstruction because of hurricane Sandy. That night we went to the Empire State Building. Of course this line was evening we than Top of the Rock and you had to do security check as well. We also saw a motion ride called NY Skyride which was super ghetto and old but it was still fun! Seeing the city at night was a lot different from the day. Gorgeous! It was cool to be able to see the city during the day and night.
Day 8: {Friday} We definitely ran out of things to do. We finally made it to Central Park, though! While crossing the street a pigeon decided to poop.. Thankfully it landed right between Hayley and I. Nasty. Central Park unfortunately is not that pretty this time of year. Everything is dead. :( I did see lots of ducks and a turtle sitting on a rock. We walked across the Brooklyn bridge. That was so cool! We got a good view of the Manhattan bridge. {I knew it was the Manhattan bridge, thanks to the tour guide yesterday and his analogy, BMW- Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg.} It's still under construction so there wasn't a lot of spots to get a good view of the city. We did a little more shopping, we finally found Bloomingdale's, which I cant afford, and of course the famous DASH store. We ate lunch at a popular place called Shake Shack. I've never heard of it but Hayley's sister said we had to go there. i'm assuming it was in a movie. It was super good! We then came home to pack and rest. Very eventful, exhausting week but I'm super excited to go home tomorrow.
